Berlin is preparing to welcome the incoming refugees.
The city is preparing: the number of incoming persons is unknown, difficult to predict, there are currently about 14,000 refugees arriving in Germany through Hungary.
As the means of transport are many the federal police and municipal offices haven’t yet reliable information, while Berlin begins preparations to accommodate refugees in the best possible way: in Spandau, at the former barracks Schmidt-Knobelsdorf, a field of 600 temporary accommodation (tents) was set up.
The mayor Michael Müller and his staff expect arrivals for a maximum of about 4000 refugees in the coming days.
Meanwhile, many people in the city are preparing to be helpful: many requests for clothing and food are already in social networks.
