A car exploded while it was moving to Berlin, in the district of Charlottenburg, exactly Bismarckstrasse.
Berlin police have taken steps to secure the area and to close traffic.
The causes are not yet known, but investigators exclude the incident is due to a fault of the car, and suggest a probable IED and sappers are working to understand whether there are other explosives in the car.
The man driving the vehicle died, and his identity is unknown at this time.
The area around Bismarckstrasse is still under control, the police invites residents and store owners to avoid going out on the street.
